Ayala’s Herbal Water Review & Giveaway

Water is without a doubt our body’s best friend.  But do we actually drink enough of it?  I am the first to admit that I don’t, and I can sum up why in one word.  Bland.  Ayala’s Herbal Water is the first nationally available organically certified enhanced flavored water made with all organic ingredients.  It has zero calories, zero artificial additives and zero preservatives!  They use purified water that comes from an Artesian Well in Virginia, and infuse it with herbal extracts.  Dr. Ayala is a mom, pediatrician, artist and lifelong vegetarian.  She started making unique waters at her home, using herbs right out of her garden!  They became so popular with friends and family that she decided to make a business out of it.
“Seeking an alternative to sugar-laden and artificially flavored beverages, Dr. Ayala created her own blends of herb infused waters that magically satisfy thirst and restore the spirit. Among her family and friends, Dr. Ayala’s herbal waters became famous for their uniquely refreshing tastes and aromas.”
Ayala’s Herbal Water is available in:
  • Lemongrass Mint Vanilla-Lavender, mint and vanilla bean
  • Lavender Mint-Lavender, mint, lemongrass and thyme
  • Lemon Verbena Geranium-Lemon verbena, rose geranium
  • Cloves Cardamom Cinnamon-Cloves, cardamom and cinnamon
  • Cinnamon Orange Peel-Cinnamon and orange peel
  • Ginger Lemon Peel-Ginger root, lemon peel

The wonderful people at Ayala’s Herbal Water sent me a six-pack of Herbal Water to try.  (They even sent a stack of miniature cups for tasting!)  I will say without hesitation that I was completely unprepared for this water.  I was well aware of the flavor combinations ahead of time, but I had no idea they would taste so dramatic and bold!  Make no mistake, this is not a complaint.  The water was crisp and refreshing in a way I never imagined.  There’s no sweetener added, so unlike most flavored waters, you don’t get that “artificial” taste to it.  It’s just pure, thirst-quenching water that literally tastes just like what is printed on the label…Oranges, Lavender, Cinnamon, Cardamom.  I really enjoyed every variety of Ayala’s Herbal Water, but I will say that the Lemon Verbena Geranium was a little out of my league.  My ultra-picky three year old happened to love it!  She took one big sip, hesitated briefly, then walked away with it saying “It tastes like beautiful roses, Mommy.”  …and drank the entire bottle!!
MY THOUGHTS: This is a product that you really do learn to appreciate.  I’ve since finished off each bottle and I must say, I’ve been seriously craving more!  Something about the infused herbs makes this water some of the most refreshing water I’ve ever had.  (Sort of like when you add a fresh slice of lemon to your water, but without the tanginess!)  I would definately consider this a “foodie” beverage.  It would be great to serve at a dinner party, but it’s also a beverage that will be much appreciated on a warm summer day.  I highly suggest giving this incredibly unique water a try!  An unexpected Fab Find!
