I received a box of SUSTA single-serve packets to try. The reason I wanted to get my hands on this particular brand is because I suffer from hypoglycemia. When it hits me, I become dizzy and shaky, and sometimes I feel completely disoriented. The worst part is, I know I can stop myself from getting to this point through proper eating.
Texturally, SUSTA is a super fine powder. And taste-wise, it’s completely different than other sweeteners. It had a fruity flavor to it which reminded me of cotton candy! I’ve used it in coffee, iced tea and in cottage cheese that I ate topped with fruit.
So does it work? I have to be honest, I really don’t know. I haven’t had any trouble with my blood sugar as of late (thankfully!). But one thing I can say for sure is that it has a great flavor, and doesn’t leave a funky aftertaste in my mouth. And to me, that’s important. I’m going to continue to use SUSTA simply because I enjoyed it, and secretly because I am interested in what it might do for my blood sugar!
