Instant Pot Chicken and Rice

A complete family dinner cooked in a single pot - juicy chicken and fluffy rice, no babysitting the stove.

Ingredients

  • 600 g chicken thighs
  • 300 g long-grain rice
  • 500 ml chicken broth
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic

Instructions

  1. Saute onion and garlic for 2 minutes.
  2. Add rinsed rice and broth; do not stir.
  3. Lay seasoned chicken thighs on top.
  4. Pressure cook High 12 minutes, natural release 10 minutes, then fluff.

💡 Chef's tip

Let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes so the rice finishes steaming and the chicken stays juicy.

Layering the rice and liquid under the chicken (not stirring) keeps the rice from scorching on the bottom and lets the chicken juices season the grains.
