Iced Coffee

Iced Coffee

Smooth, refreshing homemade iced coffee beats any expensive cafe version for pennies. Brewed strong and poured over ice with milk, it is the perfect pick-me-up on a warm day. Sweeten and customize it exactly how you like.

Ingredients

  • 250 ml strong brewed coffee
  • 1 cup ice
  • 60 ml milk or cream
  • to taste sugar or syrup
  • optional vanilla

Instructions

  1. Brew the coffee extra strong and let it cool, or use cold brew.
  2. Stir any sugar or syrup into the warm coffee so it dissolves fully.
  3. Fill a tall glass with ice, ideally coffee ice cubes.
  4. Pour the cooled coffee over the ice.
  5. Top with milk or cream.
  6. Stir and serve, adding a splash of vanilla if you like.

💡 Chef's tip

Freeze leftover coffee into ice cubes and use those instead of regular ice, so your drink only gets more coffee-flavored as it melts.

Brewing the coffee extra strong, or using cold brew, prevents the melting ice from watering down the flavor into something weak and bitter.
