Peach Iced Tea

Peach Iced Tea

Peach iced tea is a fragrant, lightly sweet summer drink made with real peaches and freshly brewed tea. A homemade peach syrup gives it natural fruit flavor far beyond any bottled version. Serve it over ice with peach slices for a refreshing afternoon cooler.

Ingredients

  • 4 black tea bags
  • 6 cups water
  • 3 ripe peaches, sliced
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • to serve ice
  • to garnish peach slices

Instructions

  1. Simmer the sliced peaches with the sugar and 1 cup of water until soft and syrupy, about 10 minutes, then strain.
  2. Bring the remaining water to a boil, then remove from heat and steep the tea bags for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove the tea bags and let the tea cool.
  4. Stir the peach syrup into the brewed tea.
  5. Chill until cold.
  6. Serve over ice with fresh peach slices.

💡 Chef's tip

Do not over-steep the tea; bitter, over-brewed tea will overpower the delicate peach flavor.

Simmering fresh peaches into a syrup extracts their true flavor and natural sweetness, infusing the tea far more deeply than simply adding peach juice would.
