Pecan Pie
Pecan pie is a rich, gooey Southern classic with a sweet, buttery filling and crunchy toasted pecans. The contrast of the crisp crust, silky center, and nutty top is pure indulgence. It is a Thanksgiving staple that is easier to make than it looks.

Ingredients
- 1 pie crust
- 2 cups pecans
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 175C (350F) and fit the crust into a pie dish.
- Toast the pecans in a dry pan until fragrant.
- Whisk the corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, melted butter, vanilla, and salt.
- Scatter the pecans over the crust and pour the filling over them.
- Bake for 50 to 60 minutes until the center is just set with a slight jiggle.
- Cool completely so the filling sets before slicing.
💡 Chef's tip
Pull the pie when the center still jiggles slightly; it sets as it cools and stays gooey rather than dry and overbaked.
Toasting the pecans before they go into the pie deepens their flavor and keeps them crunchy against the soft filling.
