Ingredients
- 600 g chicken thighs or breast
- 4 tbsp honey
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 5 cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
Instructions
- Cut the chicken into bite-size pieces and season.
- Sear the chicken in a hot pan until golden and cooked through, then remove.
- Lower the heat and cook the minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the honey, soy sauce, and vinegar and simmer until thickened and glossy.
- Return the chicken and toss to coat in the sticky glaze.
- Finish with sesame seeds and green onion, and serve over rice.
💡 Chef's tip
Cook the garlic only briefly and over moderate heat, since burnt garlic turns the whole sauce bitter.
Reducing the sauce until it coats the back of a spoon before returning the chicken is what gives it that irresistible sticky glaze rather than a thin runny coating.
