- 1 egg
- 1 onion, grated
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 3 cloves garlic
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 190C (375F).
- Mix the turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, grated onion, garlic, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper.
- Shape into a loaf on a lined baking sheet.
- Spread half the ketchup over the top as a glaze.
- Bake for 40 minutes, then brush with the rest of the ketchup.
- Bake 15 to 20 minutes more until it reaches 75C (165F), then rest and slice.
💡 Chef's tip
Bake it free-form on a lined sheet so the surface browns and the glaze caramelizes rather than steaming in a loaf pan.
Grated vegetables like onion and zucchini add moisture to lean turkey, keeping the meatloaf tender instead of dry the way ground turkey can become.
