Turkey Meatloaf

Turkey Meatloaf

Turkey meatloaf is a lighter, healthier version of the comfort classic that stays moist and flavorful. A sweet-tangy glaze caramelizes on top as it bakes. It is an easy, wholesome family dinner served with your favorite sides.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg ground turkey
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 onion, grated
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 190C (375F).
  2. Mix the turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, grated onion, garlic, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper.
  3. Shape into a loaf on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Spread half the ketchup over the top as a glaze.
  5. Bake for 40 minutes, then brush with the rest of the ketchup.
  6. Bake 15 to 20 minutes more until it reaches 75C (165F), then rest and slice.

💡 Chef's tip

Bake it free-form on a lined sheet so the surface browns and the glaze caramelizes rather than steaming in a loaf pan.

Grated vegetables like onion and zucchini add moisture to lean turkey, keeping the meatloaf tender instead of dry the way ground turkey can become.
