Classic Hot Chocolate

Thick, rich hot chocolate made with real melted chocolate - worlds away from a packet of powder.

Ingredients

  • 500 ml milk
  • 100 g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk gently in a pan, not boiling.
  2. Whisk in the chopped chocolate until melted and smooth.
  3. Add sugar, vanilla and a pinch of salt.
  4. Pour into mugs and top as you like.

💡 Chef's tip

Heat the milk gently and never boil it - scorched milk turns the whole cup grainy and bitter.

Melting real chopped chocolate into the milk (instead of cocoa powder) gives a glossy, velvety cup with deep flavor and a luxurious body.
